“Oyez, oyez, oyez!” 2020 Annual Passes are here!
You may be wondering…who is the guy on the pass? You’re going to have a photo of him on your car for the next year, so we figured you should know!
Each year, we feature a different state park on the annual pass and for 2020 we are highlighting First State Heritage Park.
First State Heritage Park, located in Dover, is Delaware’s first urban “park without boundaries”, and links historic and cultural sites throughout Delaware’s capital city. Dover has been the seat of state government since 1777!
The man on the annual pass represents the town crier, who made public announcements in the streets or marketplaces of local towns in the 18th century. “Oyez, oyez, oyez!” (pronounced: 0h-yay) is how a town crier would lead into an announcement. Dover probably had a town crier of its own! Today, you can experience living history at First State Heritage Park, and learn about the rich history of our capital city.
Be sure to order your 2020 Annual Pass!
