Spring is an exciting time at Delaware State Parks! The weather is getting warmer, and the days are getting longer. Here are 5 things to do this spring at Delaware State Parks!

1. Search for Flowers

All kinds of flowers start blooming in the spring, and Delaware State Parks is the perfect place for viewing the new spring blooms. See the cherry blossoms at Brandywine Park in Wilmington, look for flowering dogwoods at Trap Pond, or search for a variety of wildflowers along the trails at White Clay Creek, Brandywine Creek, or Lums Pond.

2. Visit Spring Festivals

Springtime is one of the best time for must-see festivals in Delaware State Parks. Visit the annual Kite Festival at Cape Henlopen State Park, take in the sights and smells of the Wilmington Flower Market Festival, pedal your way through the Trap Pond Bike Rally, or attend the Delaware Goes to War re-enactment event at Fort Miles. 3. Watch for Wildlife Returning

Spring time is when all kinds of animals return to the parks for the warmer months. Keep an eye out for ospreys returning to their nests at the beach parks, horseshoe crabs spawning on the shores of the Delaware Bay, and migratory birds retuning to the forests. You can even watch a live osprey camera at the Seaside Nature Center at Cape Henlopen!

4. Stroll Through Gardens in Bloom

Delaware State Parks has a number of mansions with stunning landscaping and flourishing gardens. Check out the formal gardens at Bellevue Hall, or stroll through the rose garden at Brandywine Park.

5. Catch a Later Sunset
